Description :
CHIMERE is a chemistry-transport model recently implemented in our laboratory. CHIMERE is able to model all kind of gaseous and aerosol species, the version used here being specifically adapted to simulate the emissions, transport and deposition of desert dust.

We used two nested domains, namely d01 (spatial resolution ~50km) and d02 (spatial resolution ~20km). For the dust transport, the meteorological simulations done with the WRF regional climate model were directly used to estimate the advection, convection and turbulent terms.

The simulations were performed with a 5mn time-step and results are hourly saved, in particular the PM10 mass concentrations (in ug/m3) at the surface. Vertically, 30 levels are defined from 995 to 200 hPa. The long-term climate and dust simulation exercise was leaded on 21 dry seasons from October 1993 to April 2014.
