Description :
Provides data on arsenic contamination in soils, exposure and bioaccumulation in small mammals, around a former gold mine extraction site in southern France (Salsigne, Aude). Provides also biometric data.

Small mammal species are Apodemus sylvaticus (204), Mus spretus (55), Chionomys nivalis (2), Microtus arvalis (4) and Crocidura russula (18).
Biological materials are liver, kidney, lungs, embryos, testes, seminal vesicles, bladder, digestive tract, faeces and stomach content.
Sampling took place in October 2008 and 2009, April 2009 and 2010. 327 small mammal trap lines (small break back traps) have been set-up. Also, 45 soil samples have been taken and analysed for physico-chemical characteristics and trace metal contamination.
